OVERVIEW
2019 BMW X7
BMW's range of SUV's continues to expand with the latest addition of the 2019 BMW X7 to its X range of vehicles. Codenamed the G07, the X7 is a full-size, 3 row SUV that has the ability to carry 6 or 7 passengers with ease. The second row comes standard as a three-seater bench setup but a two seater captain chair setup for the second row its available. The X7 is significantly longer and taller than the X5 to help accommodate taller than average adults in all seats. The X5 is currently available with a third row seating option, but it's best to delegate those rearmost seats to younger children. Unbelievably, the X7 come comfortably carry six- footers in the first, second and third row!
The X7 is the flagship of the X range, therefore, it is laden with the latest and greatest technology from BMW with a lot of desirable equipment as standard. Notable features include the iDrive 7.0 with the large touchscreen with Apple CarPlay integration and the Live Cockpit Display. Power folding second and third row seats, air suspension, 4 zone climate control and 21'' rims are some standard features. Optional extras include the M Sport Package, Premium Excellence Package and the xOffroad Package. The standout features of this featured X7 include 5 zone climate control, Traffic Jam Assist, Crafted Clarity finishings, heated, vented and massaging front row seats, the remaining seats are all heated except for the centre benchseat.
The X7 comes with two engines choices, both mated to an 8 speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters on the steering wheel and xDrive all-wheel-drive. The 40i model has the well known 3.0L straight-six twin scroll turbocharged engine with 335 horsepower and 332lb/ft of torque. The 4.4L twin-turbo V8 motor is similar to one found in the M550i with an output of 456hp and 479lb/ft. Both engines have the claimed towing capacity of 7,500lbs.
The X7 may be large but it doesn't feel like it from behind the wheel. The technology assists the driver with visibility and parking. The steering is light, and the full force of the straight-six engine alongside the faultless ZF 8 speed auto quickly gets the X7 up to speed. A relaxing drive behind the wheel defines the X7's driving experience. It's calm and smooth yet offering a real connection to the road. The cabin is incredibly quiet and the interior features gorgeous materials and sharp graphics that can be admired endlessly.
